Sheep Fleece - raw unwashed wool

Each fleece weight approx. 1.6 - 2 kg

The fineness of a Swaledale fleece is approx. 35-45 microns and staple length, 100-200mm. Swaledale wool has excellent resilience and hard wearing properties and is perfect for spinning, felting and other crafts.

Use with confidence for all your spinning, felting and blending projects. A popular choice for spinning on the wheel or drop spindle. The natural grey can be dyed with very nice
results. Great for wet felting and needle felting. There are also limitless possibilities for blending with other wool or fibres such as silks, flax, bamboo etc.

The classic Herdwick sheep produces a coarse quality, hard wearing durable wool with thicker bristly fibres. Approx 40 microns with a staple length of length of 85 - 90mm. Perfect for hand spinning.
Originates from the Lake district,
England.

Great for spinning will make a coarser quality, durable, hard wearing wool. Used a lot for needle felting and is great for adding eyebrows, tails and other. Can be dyed using acid milling dyes, although this natural grey shade may only be suitable for the darker dye colours.

Scottish Blackface fleece is coarse and long. The coat is well-suited to the harsh winds and difficult weather conditions of the Scottish highlands.

Staple length: 250-350 mm and fibre diameter: 28-38 microns.
